Hands-On with Cintiq

Today was a great day.
Today we got to test-drive the 24HD Wacom Cintiq tablet. And is it ever beautiful.

I was initially concerned that it might be unnatural to draw on compared to paper, but that concern was soon negated as Dave was able to sit down and effortlessly sketch out faces as though he'd been using it for years.

We're hoping we aren't too broke can afford the slightly-cheaper-just-as-awesome 22 HD some time this year so that we can have the first two books out in 2013.

Yes, we're playing the long game, but that's the only way to make sure the end product reaches its full potential.

Check out the Wacom Cintiq demo video, below.

The Warlord in action

Hey all,

It's been some time since we've posted some artwork. Things have been busy for everyone, of course, but I'm happy to bring a near-complete sample from Dave.

To date we have released character drawings, some landscape-esque work and whatnot, but the picture below is by far the most detailed work we've shown you to date.

I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow in the face

This picture will actually appear in a prequel, of sorts. Since we are still a considerable distance from bringing you the first book, we thought we would create a shorter story taking place prior to the start of the first book.

The character in the foreground is a significant part of the rest of the story overall, and Dave is working on a painting of as he appears in the first book (which takes place a few decades after the particular moment pictured above).

And since it will be much shorter (as opposed to the first book, which has shaped up to be around 350 pages) we are hoping to release it completely online by the end of this year!

Intermission

Hola Amigos

It’s been a little while since we’ve had progress to report, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been
working hard.

There are a few new developments that we are pretty excited about, and we’ve been trying to figure
out the best way for two broke dudes to accomplish them.

Meanwhile, Tim has a short story published in May’s issue of Fuss Magazine, a new local publication
showcasing the arts – and the great thing is that it’s free, like so many other great things (uhhh….
Oxygen? Opinions?)

Anyways, take a gander, because there is a plethora of local talent that this magazine helps showcase.

Graphically speaking, Dave is working on some paintings that, even in their unfinished forms, are looking pretty spectacular. Hopefully we can get some pics for everyone soon.
